Clients goal

For a long time, the client thought to update the website’s appearance and rework certain functionality, and we were challenged to fulfill all client’s desires using our expertise. The client already had clear design requirements and website mockups and our development team needed to turn them into a working e-commerce website. In addition to the website development, the shopping cart also required a rework. And the final desire was the implementation of a Google Maps-based store locator.

Our approach

The old version of the store was based on the outdated version of Magento 1, which did not allow all the client’s wishes to come true. Together with the customer, we decided to move the store to a modern Magento 2 platform, which greatly simplified the implementation of new features and reworking old ones. Besides, our developers constantly collaborated with the customer to make updated website designs fully corresponding to the client’s vision and requirements.

Since simplicity was the main criteria, the homepage has a minimum of elements. We made them as speaking as possible so that the visitor understands what the website is all about.

About home page

Creating a home page is something that should not be taken lightly. This page is the opening one and the one that all users rate first. This page should clearly show what value the website can bring to the client and what specific services it provides.

PROFILE PAGE

This page has also been reworked. We have left only the most important sections, such as Order History, Returns, Addresses, and Wishlist. We have also introduced additional ways to register via Facebook and Google for a more convenient and quick login.

Profile page allows users to significantly speed up the purchase process thanks to the ability to enter contact information, save their favorite products, and so on.

REWORKED PRODUCT PAGE

The entire product page consists of only two blocks. The left side of the page is completely dedicated to product photos that can be switched and zoomed. The right part contains information about the product.

About product page

The product page is what eCommerce stores are all about. This page contains all the essential information about the product, its characteristics, reviews, as well as adding a product to the cart.

STORE LOCATOR

To implement the store locator, we connected Google Maps to the website, which made it possible to show the location of stores directly on the map in real-time. Besides that, we have added convenient filters that allow users to search using postal or zip codes and in a certain area size (25 km, 50 km, and so on).

This feature can be implemented in various ways, but its main task is to provide users with complete information about the brand's stores in the nearest location.

01 Website Navigation

We also decided to make the navigation bar as clear as possible and show for whom you can find clothes on the website. We have added five buttons: SALE, WOMEN, MEN, UNISEX, and KIDS. Each button is equipped with a drop-down menu where the visitor can study the range of clothing types and choose the desired clothing with ease.

02 Search Bar

We hid the Search Bar behind a button. When pressed, a window appears where the user can enter a query, study the recommendations and click the Search button to go to the search results page.

03 Filter Options

We also made the filters simple, implementing a choice of clothing type through clickable teak windows. In the drop-down menu, users can select, for example, new arrivals. And the final element of the filter option is the choice of color and size of clothes through stylized buttons.

04 Shopping cart

We also made unique decisions in reworking the shopping cart. In addition to the usual cart button in the footer, we made the cart automatically appear on the website’s right side when a customer adds a product to the cart from the product page. In the shopping cart, users can edit the number of added units, delete the goods from the cart, see the order’s full price, the cost of delivery, and go to the checkout page.

05 Checkout process

The whole checkout process is divided into several stages, and the user must fill in certain fields before proceeding to the next step. The page is split into two parts. There is a checkout process on the left side, while on the right side, users can always see what goods need to be paid for. Besides, we have added a fast checkout via PayPal.

How our expertise helped the business

After the website upgrade was completed, the client was very pleased with the improved performance provided by the powerful Magento 2 platform. Besides, the CTR and time on the page increased due to a simplified design that less confuses visitors and allows them to focus only on the shopping process.
